“The Change” Challenge

Menopause, so often called “The Change” by mothers and grandmothers, implies one big, climactic event. But even as a woman enters her 30s, her body is preparing for menopause – it’s not one event but rather a series of changes set in motion by a woman’s hormones.

Today, most U.S. women can expect to live more than one third of their life beyond menopause, yet it’s a stage in life that many women feel rather unprepared for. Ready or not, the symptoms take over – erratic periods, hot flashes, disrupted sleep, just to name a few.

Generations ago, menopause wasn’t discussed as openly and knowledge of hormones was not as advanced as today. Knowing ahead of time what to expect and why your varied symptoms are actually normal can help you get control of the changes in your body. So take the “The Change” Challenge to see which common perceptions are fact and which are fiction.
