Mary Jo Zimmer, M.D.
Contact & Practice Information

I listen to my patients' concerns and address each one individually. I encourage my patients to ask questions and value an open, honest discussion. In 1981, I earned my M.D. from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison. My internship and residency in Pediatrics were completed at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. While working with patients of all ages is enjoyable, I find adolescents the most challenging and interesting. Away from the clinic, I enjoy gardening, reading, cooking, volunteering at church, skiing, music, walking and reminiscing at a family gathering.

Patient education is important. I believe the parents and child should be informed of any problems identified, how to treat them and be involved with the treatment decisions. In 1979, I received my M.D. from the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Both my internship and residency in Pediatrics were completed at the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri. I'm Board Certified in Pediatrics. I enjoy keeping abreast of the latest information and research in general Pediatrics. Away from the clinic, I enjoy auto mechanics, gardening, traveling, camping and fishing.

Contact & Practice Information

Talking to and getting to know my patients and families is the best part of my job. I strive to educate my patients and their families about growth and development. When recommended, treatment options are discussed together and questions encouraged, so that the best decisions can be made. In 1988, I earned a Dietetics degree from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1995, I received my M.D. from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia, and then completed my Pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. I'm a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. I enjoy keeping abreast of the latest information in nutrition education, adolescent health education and pediatric nutrition. Away from the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my family.
