GI Warning Signs

Gastrointestinal (GI) disorders may have the following symptoms. It is important to call your doctor if you:

  • See blood in the stool
  • Have a change in bowel habits that lasts more than 10 days
  • Experience unexplained weight loss
  • Have any of the following symptoms that do not improve with over-the-counter medicines:
    • Severe abdominal cramps or pain
    • Severe diarrhea
    • Unexplained fever lasting more than 3 or 4 days
    • Exhaustion
    • Loss of appetite
    • Nausea
