Stress Overload

Too many people at the mall. Too many cards to address. Too many gifts to wrap. Too many bills to pay.

During the holiday season, these are some of the reasons many of us feel stretched and stressed. In most instances, it is a short-term situation and once the troublesome situations have passed, our levels of stress hormones return to normal. This short-term stress comes from anticipated demands and pressures of the near future. In small doses, it can be invigorating, but too much can be exhausting.

While short-term stress can be dangerous to some, it is chronic long-term stress that causes the most health problems.
