Last Updated: July 1, 2003

Milwaukee County
Call Elderlink at (414) 289-6874 for information on Milwaukee County programs for seniors including:

The Home Delivered Meal Program, which promotes independent living for homebound older adults through the delivery of a hot, nutritious noon meal Monday through Friday.

ElderWatch
ElderWatch is a joint effort of the Milwaukee County Department on Aging and Interfaith, Inc. Through a combination of education, training, and consciousness raising, community members like bankers, grocers, pharmacists, mail delivery personnel and other concerned individuals are taught to recognize warning signs indicating that an elder is in need of assistance.

Additional services for seniors providing transportation, homemaking and health care also are available through Elderlink.

Waukesha County
The Waukesha County Department of Senior Services provides opportunities and supportive services to Waukesha County residents age 60 and above. The department operates several volunteer programs, including the Friendly Visitor Program. If assessment indicates the need, the Information and Assistance team can coordinate visits from a volunteer visitor for older adults who may not have family or friends nearby and are in need of companionship.

Homemaker services provide light housekeeping to help maintain older adults’ level of independence in their home.

Personal Care includes the provision of bathing and personal hygiene care for older adults in their home. This assistance is available to older persons who are essentially medically stable and ambulatory but unable to self-administer safe and adequate personal hygiene and bath care.

Chore Services are being provided through Interfaith Caregiving Network in Waukesha, telephone (262) 549-3348.
